You can now apply online to study at Walter Sisulu University (WSU) for the 2024-2025 academic year. If you want to study for your first degree or continue with a postgraduate degree at WSU, you need to fill out the application form on the university’s website.
This opportunity is open to new students who haven’t been to WSU before, as well as current students who want to change their course of study. If you’ve applied before but didn’t get in, or got in but didn’t accept your spot, you can still apply. Even if you’ve finished another program and want to start another undergraduate degree, you should apply too.

Once you have confirmed your Walter Sisulu University (WSU) Admission Status, you may proceed to the Walter Sisulu University (WSU) Admission Portal to initiate the process of viewing your Admission letter.

3. Locate the Admission Letter section to download and print your acceptance letter.

Please remember to take note of the important application deadlines when submitting your WSU online application. The closing date for Health Science Programmes is 30 September, while all other programs have a closing date of 31 October.

Application Fee –
Applicants who intend to apply to Walter Sisulu University must submit an application fee of R115 for online applications and R185 for hard copy applications upon receiving their student number from WSU.

All individuals commencing a new qualification are required to submit all necessary documents, which typically include the following:
- A duplicate of your school qualifications (e.g., Senior Certificate).
- A duplicate of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted).
- A duplicate of your ID document (for RSA students) or ID/passport (for international students).
- A duplicate of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable).
- Notarized translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans.
